There has recently been a heightened awareness of human trafficking in the news and on social media. While there are many conspiracy theories floating around, one thing is certain: There are an estimated 40 million people trapped in slavery around the world. If that’s the reality for 40 million people, we can no longer choose ignorance of this issue. Meet Richard Lee:

Richard Lee is a sought-after speaker on issues of justice and the Church, speaking at churches across the nation for the last 20 years. His talk “Slavery Still Exists. Here’s How to End It.” can be found on the TED.com website. Additionally, he is the host of The Pursuit with Richard Lee, a podcast with unfiltered conversations with faith leaders about their journey to pursue God. (Pursuit URL: http://bit.ly/thepursuitcast). He has been interviewed on dozens of podcasts and radio stations and his writings have been read on churchleaders.com & medium.com.
In his role as Global Officer of Public Engagement with International Justice Mission (IJM), he trains and equips IJM staff and survivors to carry the message of ending injustice on the global stage. Before joining IJM, Richard served 20 years in pastoral ministry at churches like Liquid Church and Bethany Well Church in New Jersey. In addition, he currently serves as an advisory board member for One Days Wages, a global poverty organization.
Richard received his degree in Mathematics from Columbia College (NYC) and his master’s of divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He resides in New Jersey with his wife Theresa and their two children.
